MEDICAL STUDENT, TAMARYN GREEN TAKES MISS SOUTH AFRICA CROWN.

Miss South Africa has been crowned, and her name is Tamaryn Green, a 23-year old medical student from Paarl.

This year, the selection was a little different from the conventional method, Miss South Africa 2018 was chosen from five finalists, out of 12. After which two winners were chosen to represent South Africa at Miss World and Miss Universe, Thulisa Key and Tamaryn Green respectively. From the two, Tamaryn reigned supreme after answering the final question;

“President Cyril Ramaphosa quoted Thuma Mina, imploring all South Africans to rebuild our country. If you were to win and our president said to you: Send me, how would you lend a helping hand?” To which she responded;

“I would lend a helping by starting with what I know. I will use my medical knowledge and as an influencer I would inspire all the women of South Africa to help and Heal and influence women to reach out for their strengths.”

Now that the competition is out of the way. What exactly is expected of Miss S.A during her reign?

According to the Miss South Africa official blog; Miss S.A needs to be the people’s queen, as she will be spending most of her time engaging with people from diverse cultures in South Africa, as well as representing our nation on an international platform. Miss South Africa’s qualities are that she is compassionate and inspirational. She is a confident woman, comfortable with speaking to CEOs and dignitaries, while fearlessly using her voice for the charitable cause of her choosing. Miss SA is hard-working, charismatic and organized and has the world at her feet.

Tamaryn walks away with an amazing prize package worth 3 million rand.
